Thank you, Lynn. Yeah, it just struck me odd how Capt. Holguin compared this year to one of the city's worst years (2017) for crime: Capt. Holguin did that to say Lakewood had a crime DECREASE the same year crime INCREASED. Not a good look.
I did my homework and went back 11 years and the Sheriff's Department's records showed that 2017 was one of the two highest crime years on recent record. I could go back another 9 years to make it an even 20 years of comparative data, but I stopped it at 11 years.
